Joel Glen Buntley was born on September 13th, 1946, to Robert Lee Buntley and Alma Lou Troupe in Shelbyville Tennessee. He would be the first of two children. His younger brother Douglas Eilburn Buntley was born on August 14th, 1949.
Sparkie had 2 uncles and 3 aunts on his mother’s side, unfortunately, 2 of the aunts passed away at a very young age. His father was an only child.
